Harold D. Spencer, age 84 of Topeka passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016. He was born on April 21, 1932 in Halstead, KS the son of Laurence and Alice Bigger Spencer. He married Donna Allensworth on April 11, 1953 in Bartlesville, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on March 12, 2009. Harold worked in construction as a framer/finisher all his life. He was a member of the Local Carpenters Union in Topeka. Harold was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Wettengel and a son, Robert Spencer. He is survived by five sons, Randy Spencer, Rick Spencer, Rusty Spencer, Ronny (Lisa) Spencer and Rocky Spencer; a daughter, Becky (Bob) McPhail, all of Topeka; two brothers, Marvin Spencer of El Dorado and Tony Spencer of Newton; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Harold enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles all his life.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Half Day Cemetery at Elmont. He will lie in state Tuesday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
