Vivian Maxine Merritt

Vivian Maxine Merritt, age 86, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Stormont Vail Hospital. Maxine was born September 15, 1929 in Corning, Kansas the daughter of Garland and Ethel Owens Luellen. Maxine married Edward Merritt November 15, 1946 in Topeka. He survives. She worked as a beautician at The Beauty Box in Oakland and out of her house after that. She also sold Avon products. In retirement years Maxine and Ed enjoyed camping and fishing. She is survived by her husband Ed of over 69 years; a son, Ken (Carleen) Merritt of Meriden; a daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Bumgarner of Topeka; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Sunday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. with visitation from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
