Lucille M. Carter, age 89 of Topeka passed away Monday, May 31, 2016 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. Lucille was born June 5, 1926 in Topeka the daughter of Fred and Luella Andres Siegel. Lucille grew up in Topeka, graduating Topeka High. She married Donald E. Carter November 1, 1946 in Topeka. She worked for the State of Kansas and Hallmark. She was an active member of the Jefferson Assembly of God Church in Meriden. Survivors include her husband Don of over 69 years; three daughters, Linda (Daryl) Weibel of Topeka, Pam Tatum of Lenexa and Roxie (Bill) Russell of Topeka; a sister, Mary Lou Stickney of Topeka; six grandchildren, Kim, Kristi, Jennifer, April, Lindy and Kelli and eight great grandchildren, Chandler, Chase, Carson, Carter, Isabella, Kaylee, Rylee and Lincoln. She is also survived by two sister in laws, Genevieve Woodbury and Diana Siegel and a brother in law, Mervin "Joke" Dillon along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Kenneth Siegel and two sisters, Helen Freedland and Lillian Quast.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jefferson Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be one hour before services Friday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 am. She will lie in state Thursday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson Assembly of God and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
