Arnold A. Meyer, age 95, of Topeka passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Stormont Vail Hospital. Arnold was born April 6, 1921 in Reliance, South Dakota the son of Enos Meyer and Mable Lloyd Meyer. He graduated from Seaman High School and attended Washburn University. Arnold served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II serving in the Pacific and Atlantic Theatres. He married Darlene Button April 22, 1945 in Topeka. She preceded him in death July 7, 2011. He was a construction contractor in Topeka for many years. Arnold was a member of Post #400 and was a National Representative of the Kansas Retail Liquor Dealers Association. He is survived by four daughters, Letha (Gary) Smith, Nancy (Phillip) VanHoutan, Billie Jo (Merle) White and Diana (Larry) Vance, all of Topeka; brother in law, William (Kathy) Button of Topeka; nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Rochester Cemetery. He will lie in state Wednesday from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Shelter or the Topeka Rescue Mission and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
