Irma R. Bayless

Irma R. Bayless, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016. She was born May 1, 1923 the daughter of Arthur and Nellie Conwell Bartram at Elmont. Irma attended school at Elmont. She was employed by Hills Packing Company for three years, Forbes Mill for three years and later was self-employed cleaning houses for over 32 years.
Irma was married to Ray Bayless in 1943 at Topeka. Ray preceded her in death in July of 1966. Her companion, George, “Dutch” Miller passed away on May 8, 1998.
She survived by her sisters, Helen Frye of Topeka and Margaret Trader of Meriden; step-daughter, Judy Meier and husband Tom of Topeka; step-son, Don Miller of Topeka and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death are her parents and sisters, Edith Dutcher, Eva Harper, Thelma Holt and Marie Bartram; and her brother, Glenn Bartram.
Graveside services will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka on Tuesday, April 26th at 10:00 am. She will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home from 1-7 on Monday where the family will receive friends from 6-7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or to the Helping Hands Humane Society in care of Davidson Funeral Home.
