Nancy Owsley Toedman

Nancy O. Toedman, age 79, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Brewster Place in Topeka. Nancy was born July 27, 1936 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Lowell Owsley and Ellen McClelland Owsley. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1954. Nancy graduated with a Bachelors degree from Washburn University. She later worked for Topeka Public School district #501 as a Paraprofessional in the Audiology Department. She married Gordon R. Toedman Sr. November 22, 1958 in Topeka. He preceded her in death May 20, 2012. Nancy was an active member of the Grace Episcopal Cathedral Church in Topeka where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, AAUW, PEO and the Kansas and Shawnee County Historical Societies where she volunteered as well as served on the Board of Directors and was a past President.
Survivors include two sons, Gordon R. Toedman Jr. of Houston and Robert Tate (Sara) Toedman of Sabetha; a daughter, Loree E. (Denny Poer) Toedman of West Hartford, CT; a brother, Lowell Owsley Jr. of Jeffersonton, VA and two grandchildren, Morgan and Reed Toedman.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Episcopal Cathedral Church. She will lie in state Sunday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. with a visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.
