Lyman “Jim” Arnold, 87, of Wakarusa passed away on March 31, 2016 at his home at Auburn. He was born December 6, 1928 at Wakarusa the son of Ralph and Clarice Buchanan Arnold. Lyman was married to Harriet S. Taylor, October 10, 1954. He was later married to Helen Hoppe. Lyman farmed near Wakarusa his entire life, first maintaining a dairy herd for many years, later running a beef operation and finally retiring about five years ago. He had attended the Presbyterian Church in Auburn.
Survivors include a son, James Arnold of Wakarusa; daughter, Lois Ann Coke of Tonganoxie; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dallas Arnold and Lloyd Arnold; and sister, Leila Nelson.
Harriet preceded Lyman in death on September 11, 2000. His second wife Helen also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at Davidson Funeral Home at 1:30 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016. Interment will follow in Simmerwell Cemetery east of Auburn. Mr. Arnold will lie in state from 1-5 on Sunday where the family will receive friends from 3-4 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka, Shawnee County Meals on Wheels.
