Daniel Francis Cool

Daniel F. Cool, age 71, of Grantville passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016. Dan was born October 28, 1944 in Topeka the son of Howard Cool and Florence Kammer Cool. Dan graduated from Perry High School in 1962. Dan served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He then worked for the City of Topeka as a surveyor and inspector of over 32 years, retiring in 1998. Dan served as a volunteer firefighter for the Kaw Township (Grantville) Jefferson County Fire Station #1 for over 50 years where he served as Assistant Chief. Dan was very involved in the Grantville community all his life. He helped many in the community by mowing and snow removal. Dan was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by a brother, Michael (Janet) Cool of Grantville; a niece, Christina (John Grossman) Cool and a great niece, Catie Grossman all of Denton, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rosary will be prayed Friday at 5:00 p.m. followed by a visitation from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kaw Township Fire Department #1 and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
