Harley Yoder, 87, of Topeka passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor. He was born November 19, 1928 at Hutchinson, Kansas the son of Herman C. and Elizabeth Garver Yoder. Harley moved to Topeka and worked for 31 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company before retiring. He was a member of Highland Heights Christian Church in Topeka. Harley lived in Topeka for nearly 60 years before he passed away. He was married to Mary on July 6, 1985 at Northland Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Mary Yoder of Topeka; children, Michael Smith, Anita Freeman and Jeannette Wilson; siblings, Chris Yoder, Ora Yoder, Gertie Yoder, Fannie Miller, Orpha Nisley and Erma Yoder and nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Fred, Roy and Edna.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Highland Heights Christian Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am Wednesday prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to N.E. Kansas Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Association or to Highland Heights Christian Church in care of Davidson Funeral Home.
