Harry Milton Rees, age 88, of Auburn, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Midland Hospice in Topeka. Milton was born April 1, 1927 in Manchester, Kansas the son of Ray and Florence Fiek Rees. He attended Chapman High School before entering the U.S. Army in 1945 where he served in the W.W.II and was stationed in Germany. Milton worked in heavy construction for Douglas Construction, Watson Construction and retired from Schmidtlein Construction in 1990. He married Mary Morehouse June 13, 1949 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, H. Wayne (Valerie) Rees of Auburn and Riley (Debbie) Rees of Topeka; two brothers, Marvin and Loyal Rees both of Topeka; four sisters, Alma Sexton of Osawatomie, Kansas, Edith Sanders of West Virginia, Lila Zimmerman of Topeka and Avis Bergman of Tampa, Kansas; four grandchildren, Adam Rees, Katie Rees, Erin Collier and Austin Rees and one great granddaughter, Piper Rees Collier. He was a member of the Operating and Hoisting Engineers Local #101 Union in Topeka.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission or the Midland Hospice Care and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
