Janice A Johnson

Janice A. Johnson, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at her home. She was born July 9, 1941 in Lawrence, Kansas the daughter of Thomas and Agnes Gulley Boyd. Janice worked at Goodyear until her retirement. She attended St. Phillips Episcopal Church and later at St. David’s Episcopal Church. She volunteered many hours for Let’s Help in Topeka. She will be remembered as Super Mom raising her five children on her own.
She married to Ed Johnson on September 21, 1997 at Topeka. He survives at their home in Topeka. Other survivors include her children, Sherrie Contee of Topeka, Tom Sipp of Wichita and Robert Sipp of Murfreesboro, TN; one brother, Donnie Boyd of Topeka; sister, Sandra Boyd of Topeka; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Larry Sipp in 1988 and Teresa McPhail this past February.
Graveside services and interment will be at 2:00 pm Monday, November 30, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday evening at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N Kansas, Topeka, Ks 66608. Memorial contributions may be made to NE Kansas Alzheimer’s Association or to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
