Andrea Burton

Andrea Burton, 48, of Topeka, Kansas passed away October 27, 2015, peacefully at her home after a battle with melanoma. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on August 14, 1967. She attended Youngstown State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in sociology in 1989. She then attended Kent State and graduated with a Masters degree in sociology. While working towards her Master’s degree at Kent State, she met the love of her life Russell Patrick Douglas Burton, and they later married, August 15, 1992, in Youngstown, Ohio. Together they had multitudes of children: Brieanna, Benjamin, Zoey; Shana, Gabriella, Elisha, Gena Burton; Anthony, Ashley, Ashlee, Ammala (Judy), Altaine, Brian, Celeste, Chico, Chianne, Deandra, Deonte, Freddy, Gabriella, Harlin, Humberto, James, Jennifer, Jessica, Jessie, Kayla Bolden, Kayla Love, Kent, Keke, Kirsten, Leno, Matthew, Michael, Nick, Randy, Rana, Sabrina, Saydea, Tyler, Will Cheeks, Willy, and Valdo whom will carry on her values. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Topeka, and was a member of the Page Turners Book Club for many years. Aside from her loving children, she is survived by her intensely devoted husband Dr. Russell P.D. Burton. She also left behind her sister Mary Rakocy Ditsch of Columbus, Ohio; her brother Mark Rakocy of California, and both her parents Edward and Paula Rakocy of Youngstown, Ohio. Services will be Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 3:00 p.m.. Viewing will be Friday 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The family kindly requests that no flowers be sent, but rather memorial contributions may be made out to Helping Hands Humane Society or Harvesters, in care of Davidson Funeral Home.
