Pauline Fern Thornburgh

Pauline “Polly” F. Thornburgh, age 76, of Topeka, went to be with our Lord Thursday, September 17, 2015 at her home in Topeka. She was born March 9, 1939 in Goff, Kansas the daughter of Jesse and Josephine Wade Thompson. Her family moved from Nemaha County to Topeka in 1954. She married Stanley A. Thornburgh September 24, 1965 in Topeka. Polly worked for Singer Sewing Company in Topeka for over 25 years. Polly and Stan were avid gardeners, receiving the grand prize award in the Topeka Beautification Contest in 1984.
She is survived by her husband, Stan of nearly 50 years; two daughters, Kim (Randy) Lesseski of Topeka and Jeri (Tim) Eckhardt of Auburn, KS; a brother, George (Pam) Thompson of Lee’s Summit, MO; two sisters, Carol Johnson of Auburn and Linda Davis of Topeka; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Park Christian Church. She will lie in state from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday with visitation from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Auburn Cemetery.
