Donald G. Eshom, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015. He was born March 28, 1938 at Newton, Kansas the son of Charles and Josephine May Stanley Eshom. He lived on the family farm north of Burton, Kansas and graduated from Burton High School in 1956. He was married to Pamela Williams on May 11, 1970 in Oklahoma City. They made their home in the Burton area until moving to Emmett in 1976. Don worked for KPL, later Westar for over 35 years before retiring. He later worked for Black and Veatch for 15 years out of their Kansas City Offices. Don was a helper, he enjoyed doing chores for family and friends. He just liked helping out, any way he could. He and Pamela moved to their home west of Topeka 20 years ago.
He is survived: his wife, Pamela Eshom of Topeka; children,“Dean” Echom (Amy) of Topeka, Michelle Zeller, Topeka, Brian Eschom of Topeka, Rhonda Zimlich (Todd) of Topeka; grandchildren, Chris J. Eshom, Hoyt, Jessica Zimlich of Kansas City, Mo, Jordan Zimlich, Kansas City, Mo, David Heideman, Republic, Mo, Cooper Zeller, Topeka, Parker Zeller, Topeka, Jeffrey Eshom, Topeka, Dawson Zimlich, Topeka, Harper Don Zimlich, Topeka, Camden Zimlich, Topeka, Trisha Gilbertson, Topeka, Brett Gilbertson Alpena, Mi, Amanda Stueve, Topeka and Alex Stueve, Pittsburg, Ks.
Funeral services will be held at Grace Point Church, 5400 SW Huntoon in Topeka, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Eshom will lie in state from 12:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Point Church in care of the funeral home.
