Eben D. Rutledge

Eben D. Rutledge Jr., age 92 of Topeka passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 in Topeka. He was born November 4, 1922 in Topeka the son of Eben D. Rutledge Sr. and Frances Porter Rutledge. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Mary Lou Peavler March 10, 1946 in Topeka. She preceded him in death January 7, 1995. He worked as a welder for Henry’s Manufacturing and later as a plumber for Smelters Plumbing in Topeka. He attended church at the Church of God Fellowship in Topeka.
He is survived by three sons, Daniel Rutledge, Dana Rutledge and Eric (Kay) Rutledge, all of Topeka; two daughters, Delores (Jack) Todd of Lawrence and Belynda (Kenny) Cramer of Topeka; a sister, Vivian Mansfield of Illinois; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Monday from noon – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home with visitation from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Penwell Gable Cemetery.
