Thomas B. Carlyle

Thomas B. Carlyle, age 86 of Topeka, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Pines in Holton, KS. Tom was born September 19, 1928 in Wichita the son of Bert and Lenore Holcomb Carlyle. He married Kathryn Edgington July 19, 1947. Tom worked at the Topeka V.A. Hospital in Topeka for over 20 years. Tom was a member of Northern Hills Baptist Church. He and Kathryn lived in Oskaloosa for several years. Tom was self taught and held several talents. He was an artist and enjoyed flying. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn of over 68 years; his step mother, Elsa Carlyle of Lynn, KS; two sons, Michael Carlyle of Colorado Springs and Drenon Carlyle of Medford, Oregon; two sisters, Patricia Hackathorn of Tennessee and Robbie Criss of Lawrence; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 14, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Half Day Cemetery, north of Topeka. He will lie in state Thursday from noon – 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the choice of the donors. Online condolences may be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
