Dennis L. Freed

Dennis L. Freed, age 71, of Netawaka, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in Topeka. He was born August 22, 1943 in Bellville, Kansas the son of Norman Freed and Roberta Mitchell Freed. He graduated from Topeka High School. He married Jean Driscoll March 17, 1995 in Topeka. He worked as a mechanical estimator for Universal Mechanical and Electrical Inc. in Topeka. He owned and operated Midwest Sheet Metal for a while. He was a member of the Local Sheet Metal Workers #2 in Topeka. Dennis was an avid KU, Royals and Chiefs fan.
He is survived by his wife Jean of over 20 years; five sons, Timothy (Jerri) Freed of Topeka, Thomas (Cindie) Freed of Dana Point, CA, Patrick (Lara) Freed of Seattle WA, Phil (Candice) Wainwright of Dover, KS and Keith (Maureen) Wainwright of Melvern, KS; two brothers, Teri and Charles Freed of Topeka; a sister, Diana Martin of Topeka; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and his dog Molly.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Friday from 1:00–8:00 p.m. with visitation from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery.
