Blanche M. Roswurm, age 91, of Topeka went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 16, 2015 at her home in Topeka. Blanche was born December 26, 1923 in Topeka the daughter of George Haydon and Marcella Anderson Haydon. She grew up in Topeka, graduating from Topeka High School in 1942. She married Robert U. Roswurm February 13, 1944 in Texas. Robert served his country in the Air Force for twenty-six years and was stationed in various locations throughout the United States. Blanche was a lifelong member of the North Topeka Baptist Church where she played the organ and piano. She served as past president of the VIP Luncheon at the church, a member of the Christian Women’s Club, the Wayside Garden Club, was active with the Topeka North Outreach and served as president of the Rescue Mission Ladies Auxiliary. Blanche is survived by her grandchildren, Chrystal Wentling of Kansas City, Missouri, Jennifer (Anthony) Mendez of Topeka and John Taylor of Pennsylvania, along with four great grandchildren, Anthony Stapleton, Myranda Mendez, Celenne Mendez and Wesley Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1990; two daughters, Diane Roswurm and Linda Wentling; and a sister, Georgina Webb.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the North Topeka Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday all at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Midland Hospice or North Topeka Baptist Church and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Penwell Gable Memorial Park Cemetery at 6th & Gage.
