Margie M. Wilson, 91, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at her home in Topeka. She was born March 20, 1924 at St. Joseph, Missouri the daughter of Matthew Mark Herson and Floy Adelia Darst Herson. Margie was raised in St. Joseph. She worked in a defense plant during World War II in the Kansas City area, also was a tap dancer in USO Shows during the War. Margie was a newspaper reporter in St. Joseph. She returned to the Topeka area in 1980. She found Jesus during her 40’s and devoted the rest of her life to Him. In Topeka she worked many years at the Topeka Rescue Mission as a Ladies Supervisor. She attended several area churches including First Assembly of God and then attending Topeka Bible Church with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Carole Lee “Patsy” Weddle.
Survivors include her daughter, Debby Lunn and her husband Alan; son, Mark Wilson and wife Diana all of Topeka; sister, Connie Sandberg of Topeka; four grandchildren, Julie, Melanie, Toby and Cory; five great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Tyler, Zoie, Levi and Logan; and one great-great grandson, Isaiah.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission in care of the funeral home.
