Donna M. Higbee

Donna M. Higbee, 85, of Topeka passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015. She was born April 8, 1930 at Rieger, Missouri the daughter of Albert and Eula (Burress) Price. She moved to Shawnee County when she was a young girl and lived the rest of her life in the Shawnee County area. She lived at Elmont and then later on with Roy on their farm near Silver Lake. She was a seamstress by trade and one of her jobs was at Ray Beers Clothing Store.
She was married to Roy Higbee, Jr. on July 3, 1948 in Topeka. They were blessed to spend 64 years of married life together before his passing on January 18, 2013.
Survivors include: her sons, Don (Betty) Higbee and Allen Higbee of Topeka; two grandchildren, Guy Higbee (Kristin) of Concordia, Kansas and Mandy (Calvin) Masters of Topeka; two great grandchildren, Logan and Austin Higbee of Concordia; two sisters, Alberta Harper of Topeka and Loetta Goddard (Richard) in Michigan; and her special friend and caregiver, Jan Bryan of Topeka.
Along with Roy she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, and her grandson, Donnie Higbee, Jr.
Graveside services will be Friday, June 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Silver Lake Cemetery. She will lie in state Thursday from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
