Phyllis J. Puck, 82, passed away on Saturday morning, June 6, 2015 at Midland Hospice House. She was born June 12, 1932 at Grand Junction, Colorado the daughter of Gola Franklin and Evea Juanita Sewart Houdashelt. She moved from Colorado to Concordia, Kansas when she was a young girl. She graduated from high school at Concordia in 1950. She married J.G. Bray on June 9, 1952 in Manhattan. They lived in Concordia until his job took him to Ft. Riley, so Phyllis and her family settled in Riley, Kansas. J.G. preceded her in death in 1963. She married Robert Puck on January 2, 1971 at Fancy Creek. Phyllis and Bob moved to Topeka in 1980. She managed apartments, worked at Memorial Hospital and later worked for Dr. Shu before retiring. “Bob” preceded her in death on August 16, 2010. The last few years, Phyllis enjoyed watching her young friends play baseball and football and trips up to the casino.
Survivors include: her daughter, Deby Bjorklund and her husband Marc of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, Kristina Faircloth and husband Chris of Bashor, Kansas and Nicole Batt and husband Justin of Olathe, Kansas; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Austin and Logan; and one sister.
Phyllis was also preceded in death by her son, Norman Bray.
Mrs. Puck will lie in state at the Davidson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 11th from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 12th at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at the Highland Cemetery in at 2:00 on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
