Antonio Hernandez, 93, of Topeka passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Legacy on Tenth in Topeka. Antonio was born April 14, 1922 at McFarland, Kansas the youngest child of Epolito and Petra Montecino Hernandez. He was raised at McFarland and lived there until beginning his career with the railroad. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad several years before going to work for the Union Pacific. He worked there over 30 years before retiring. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Topeka.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Chana Davalos, Mary Mora, Manuel Hernandez, Dee Silva, Charles Salazar and Pat Elmore.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 4th at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery at Alma. A rosary will be recited beginning at 6:00 pm on Wednesday evening at Davidson Funeral Home, followed by family visitation from 6:30-8:00 pm.
