Randy L. Diederich, age 49, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at his home in Topeka. Randy was born May 11, 1966 in Hays, Kansas, the son of Carl and Maxine Simoneau Diederich. Randy graduated from Logan High School in 1984. He graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Center in Hutchison. Randy worked for the Phillips County Sheriff Department, the Hays Police Department, USD #501 in Topeka as a Law Enforcement Officer for 7 years and USD #345 Seaman for 8 years. Randy married Annie Ward August 3, 1996 in Hays. He was a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Topeka. Randy loved the Seaman community and cared greatly for everyone by serving and protecting.
Randy is survived by his wife of over 18 years, Annie Diederich; his mother, Maxine Diederich of Hays; a son, Mason Lynn Diederich of Topeka; two daughters, Madison Brooke Diederich of Manhattan and Mallory Elizabeth Diederich of Hays; two brothers, Dave Diederich of St. George and John Diederich of Wamego and two sisters, Deb Honeyman of Auburn and Chris Gottschalk of Hays.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. He will lie in state Sunday from 1:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the church with the rosary to be prayed at 5:00 p.m. and visitation from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. Interment services will be Monday at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hays. Memorial contributions may be made to the Randy Diederich Children’s College Fund or the Church and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
