Elvira “Grandma Boogy” Louise Abrams, age 83, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the Kelly House in Topeka. She was born April 23, 1932 in Topeka the daughter of Roy Peavler and Marie Clark Peavler. She graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1950. She married Kenneth E. Abrams May 26, 1950 in Topeka. He preceded her in death January 24, 1997. She was also preceded in death by two infant grandsons, two brothers and three sisters. Elvira worked at Jostens for over 15 years. She is survived by four sons, Ken (Kathy) Abrams of Topeka, Charles (Kathy) Abrams of Topeka, Richard “Jeff” (Donna) Abrams of Silver Lake and Scott (Darla) Abrams of Silver Lake; two daughters, Dolly (Zane) Brown of Topeka and Patti (Lowell) Billbe of Topeka; a sister, Fonda Peavler of Carbondale; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Elvira was a race grandma at Thunder Hill Raceway. A special thank you to the Peggy Kelly House in Topeka for all the wonderful care shown to Elvira and the Abrams family.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Sunday from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. all at the Davidson Funeral. Interment will be at the Half Day Cemetery near Elmont.
