Bette Jacqueline Jackson, 90, of Topeka died on April 10, 2015 at Peggy Kelly House, Topeka. She was born July 10, 1924 in Lenora, Kansas to James Bryan Butler and Beatrice K. Butler, she moved to Topeka with her parents and sister, Belva Butler Sandmeyer (deceased), during the depression.
A Topeka High graduate, she was employed by Merchants National Bank, Jayhawk Construction, Evans Anderson Kimball & Holman, and R.A. Fulmer & Company. She enjoyed a passion in home design and sales as a real estate agent for over 45 years until retirement in 2010. She was a member of the Topeka Board of Realtors.
Bette married Gerald Brown (deceased) during World War II, Clifford Jackson (deceased), and enjoyed companionship of Vincent Whitaker (deceased).
Survivors include daughter, Connie Clinkenbeard Fleming Clement and her husband Harold, of Grapevine, TX; grandson, Brian Clinkenbeard, North Richland Hills, Texas; granddaughter, Jan Clinkenbeard Andrew, husband John, of Arlington Heights, Illinois; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family is grateful for the loving care of all caregivers at Peggy Kelly House. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peggy Kelly House in care of Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N. Kansas Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66608. She willed her remains to the University of Kansas Medical Center. As she wished, there will be no visitation or memorial service.
