Georgina Haydon Hensleywebb

Georgina Haydon Hensley Webb, 89, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on March 28, 2015. She was born October 23, 1925, in Topeka, the daughter of George and Marcella Haydon. She graduated from Topeka High School and attended Washburn University. Georgina married Harland Hensley March 4, 1945, in Topeka. He preceded her in death May 31, 1981. She married Marvin Webb June 5, 1983, in Topeka. He preceded her in death March 23, 1999. Georgina and Marvin were Co-Developers of Southboro Estates Subdivision in southeast Topeka. She was employed by Topeka Public Schools USD 501 for 23 years and later became property manager of Shorey Villa, a senior HUD affordable housing complex, where she worked until she was hospitalized in February. Georgina was a member of the North Topeka Baptist Church for 82 years and a life-long member and precinct committeewoman of the Democratic Party. Georgina and Harland had four children and her major learning challenge began when she became a parent. She was forever grateful for all she learned from her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Blanche Roswurm, her children and their spouses: Daryle Coleman (Alan), Randall Hensley (Billie Ann Harber), Anthony Hensley (Deborah), Timothy Hensley (Kathy); grandchildren Georgann Coleman, Tony Coleman (Terri), Casey Coleman (Susan Sakash), Katie Bivens (Jason); and great-grandchildren Brighton, Harland, Quinn, Lollimae, Cleio, Lily and Booker. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015, at North Topeka Baptist Church, 123 NW Gordon Street. Interment will follow at Topeka Cemetery.
