Levaun "Bonnie" Bayless

LeVaun “Bonnie” Bayless, age 93 of Topeka passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Midland Hospice Care. Bonnie was born September 22, 1921 the daughter of Richard Nystrom and Doris Firestone Nystrom. She graduated from Dover High School in 1939. She married Elwyn Bayless January 2, 1940 in Kansas City. He preceded her in death March 1, 1997. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Darlene Francis in 2001 and Doris Bayless – Williams in 1989; a son, Richard Bayless in 2013 and two great great grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Leroy Bayless of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; three daughters, Betty (Jerry) Buckhalter of Topeka, Karla (Keever) Irwin of Harveyville and Kate (Art) Kirksey of Topeka; 23 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Wednesday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
