Fred C. Gebhart

Fred C. Gebhart, Jr., 82, of Topeka passed away on March 12, 2015. Fred was born May 15, 1932 at Topeka the son of Fred Gebhart Sr. and Mildred DeGarmo Gebhart. Mr. Gebhart was a policeman in Topeka for 20 years, later working for Goodyear for over 25 years before retiring in 1987. He was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Christ The King Catholic Church. Third Degree Knights of Columbus Mediator at Meriden.
He was married to Carol Hamilton DuBois on February 17, 1968 at Potwin Presbyterian Church and they renewed their wedding vows in 1987 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Gebhart of Topeka; children, Deborah L. DuBois of Topeka, Bradford D. DuBois (Lisa) of Loveland, Colorado and Margaret Ann Ballenger of Topeka; 8 grandchildren: Dawn (Barry)White, Jaime (Devin) Kelsey, Erin Seever-Galliart, Trina Campbell, Kari (Randy)Fleeker, Kayla Justin) Simpson, Christian DuBois, Daytona Ballenger; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara J. Creek Cramer of Topeka; brother, Steve (Nancy) Gebhart of Pensacola; cousin, Richard Blanchard (Janet) of Topeka; three nephews, Kenney Creek (Joyce) of Austin, TX, Ronald Creek (Theresa) of Topeka and Lex Pearson (Pattie) of Manhattan.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 19th at Christ The King Catholic Church with Father Tim Haberkorn officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peggy Kelly House or to Grace Hospice in care of Davidson Funeral Home.
