Joyce Faye (Dale McGoyne) Lush, age 71 of Belton, Missouri passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at the St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born December 8, 1943 in Harrisburg, Illinois the daughter of Phillip Dale and Freda Hansen Dale. Joyce was the third oldest of 12 born to this union growing up in Eldorado, Kansas. Joyce worked as a CNA at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka during the 1970’s. She also worked for L.B. Price Catalogue sales and as an Avon and Tupperware saleswoman. She volunteered as a health officer at Camp Adventure Inc. for the disabled. She married Flavous “Ladd” Josephous McGoyne September 5, 1964 in Eldorado, Kansas. They lived in Eldorado, Carbondale and Arkansas. He preceded her in death March 21, 1989. She married Edwin Frank Lush April 13, 1993 in Eureka Springs, AR. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, beauty parlor appointments and caring for her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She belonged to the Community of Christ Church and the Red Hat Society in Grandview, Missouri. She was a longtime member of T.O.P.S. (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly). She has always looked forward to their award banquets and outings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Wood January 15, 2013; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Wood September 11, 1977; a sister, Dana J. Presley and a brother, Danny L. Bailey.
She is survived by her husband Ed of over 21 years; three sons, Phillip Grant McGoyne of Carbondale, William McClellen McGoyne (Nancy) of Topeka and Aaron Joseph McGoyne (Barbara) of Topeka; two daughters, Michala Christine Bilderback (Travis) of Edwards, Missouri and Lachelle Lynn Hoppas (Bryan) of Topeka; seven brothers, Terry Dale (Anna) of Stillwell, Kansas, Allen Mizer of Holt, Michigan, Jaydee Dale of Wichita, Dewey Bailey, Jimmy Bailey, Aaron Bailey and Charles Bailey; two sisters, Donna Dale Bailey (Gary) of Diamodale, Michigan and Nancy Kauffman of Auburn; a step father, Wendell Mizer of Auburn, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Samantha Josephine “Josi” McGoyne, John Dakota Bilderback, Samuel Wade Hoppas, Shane Reilly Bilderback, Jessie Lynn Bilderback, Xavier Robert Hoppas, Levi James Bilderback and Sophia Christine Hoppas; numerous nieces and nephews and three K-9 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Thursday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. also at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Carbondale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to T.O.P.S. and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Funeral dinner will follow at the Carbondale Community Building following the services.
