Katherine M. Burns

Katherine M. Burns formerly of Topeka passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Liberty Hospital, in Liberty, Missouri. Katherine was born April 15, 1956 in Topeka the daughter of Robert and Augustina Ortega Burns. She was raised in Topeka and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe. Katherine worked at the Topeka Correctional Facility.
Survivors include her children, Ron Burns(Nikki) of North Kansas City, MO, Randall Gregory (Traci) of Overbrook, Kansas and Marie Labrador (Brad) of Liberty, MO; siblings, Yvonne Caceres (“Jose”) of Topeka, Robert “Daniel” Burns of Topeka, Susan Labrador (Greg) of Kansas City, MO and Maria Vicky Garcia (Ramon) of Topeka; five grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am Friday, January 16th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Thursday evening at the church. The family will receive friends following the rosary. Mrs. Burns will lie in state from 12-5 on Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Society.
