Louise Horacek Hoover
Louise May Horacek Hoover, 93, of Topeka, passed away January 6, 2015. She was born May 1, 1921 in Topeka, the daughter of Leo and Clara Horacek. She attended public schools in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School.
As a young girl, Louise loved to roller skate and met her husband, Howard B. Hoover, at a roller rink. They were married December 3, 1944 in Topeka. Louise accompanied Howard to Santa Monica, California following his service in the Army Air Corps in India during World War II, where they lived while he finished his military service. Upon returning to Topeka she was a homemaker and enjoyed square dancing, camping with the Topeks Campers Club, and knitting. Later she and Howard donated many volunteer hours to the Salvation Army. She attended West Side Christian Church and later Northland Christian Church.
She is survived by her son Robin (Jenith) of Topeka; her brother, Leo Horacek Jr. (Cora) of Morgantown, West Virginia; nephews Louis Horacek (Marilyn) and Tom Horacek (Val) of West Virginia; daughter-in-law Anita Hoover, Topeka; granddaughters Jenni Heibsch (Daryl) and Diane Cook (Lance), both of Topeka; grandson Silas Hoover (Sami), Hollywood, Florida; and nine great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her parents Leo Sr. and Clara Horacek, husband Howard Hoover, son Howard Todd Hoover, and nephew Robert Horacek.
Mrs. Hoover’s wishes were to donate her body to K.U. Medical Center for science. Memorial services are pending. Davidson Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
