Donald King, age 84, of Topeka passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at his home in Topeka. He was born July 21, 1930 in Horton, Kansas the son of Olis and Mary Burns King. He met the love of his life Hannah Rose and they married July 9, 1959. He worked for the City of Topeka and retired from St. Francis Hospital. His greatest accomplishments in his life were marrying “the best woman ever”, his children, and grandchildren. He was a man of few words but loving heart. He will be missed dearly.
Surviving him are his children, Tammie (Stuart) Robinson, Lorie King; grandchildren, Vanessa Robinson (Ben Blakely), Austin Robinson (Amanda Martin), Megan Wright and Cade Wright; two great-grandchildren and two more on the way he was looking forward too; and his sister, Joyce (Kelly) White.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan. 12, 2008; and two sisters, Bonnie Hughes and Betty Shaw.
Dad asked God again if he could come home? God said, Yes! Now he is where he always wanted to be, with Mom. We all have two very special Angels watching over us.
He will lie in state Sunday from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home. Private family interment will be Monday at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
