Nancy Sue Jackson passed away Monday, December 29, at the age of 72 years.
Nancy Jackson, daughter of Clarence and Madeline Townsend-Wohlbrandt was born February 21, 1942 in Odell, Nebraska.
Nancy graduated from Hanover High School in 1960, and attended Crums Beauty College in Manhattan, Kansas.
On January 28, 1962 she was married to Samuel J. Jackson, son of Samuel and Isabel (Carlson) Jackson.
Nancy was a member of Northland Christian Church and Moose Lodge. She worked at Harry Turner Advertising and Duffens Optical before retiring in 1996. She enjoyed traveling, camping, bowling, and an extremely challenging word search puzzle.
Sam and Nancy were stationed throughout the U.S. and abroad before returning to Topeka in 1981 to drop anchor and finish raising their family. In 1996 they retired, pulling up anchor once again; becoming snowbirds and traveling with their longtime best friends and partners-in-crime, Paul and Carol Anglen.
Following the death of husband Sam in 1999, Nancy returned to Topeka to enjoy her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband Sam; brothers: Kenneth and Keith Wohlbrandt; two infant sisters: Wilma and Lila Wohlbrandt, and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter René D. Dean and husband John; her son Craig A. Jackson and wife Sara; and grandchildren, Connor Dean, Téa, Kailer, and Karlie Jackson, all of Topeka.
Cremation has taken place.
Family will greet friends to celebrate Nancy’s life Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. A private inurnment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. Online condolences may be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
