Mildred Bernice Lester

Mildred B. Lester, age 70, of Scranton passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. Mildred was born July 20, 1944 in Lecompton the daughter of George Chiles and Iva Gleen Chiles. She married Lonnie Lester June 1, 1963 in Lyndon. He preceded her in death February 15, 1998 after 35 years. She worked at Frito Lay in Topeka for over 28 years. She was a member of the Scranton United Methodist Church. She was active with the Scranton Athletic Club and was an avid K.U. fan.
She is survived by two sons, Lonnie C. (Carla) Lester of Scranton and Douglas Lester of Scranton; a daughter, Staci Jones (Marten) of Scranton; brother in law, Paul Lester of Scranton; two sisters, Wanda Manis of Topeka and Frances Tindell of Carbondale; four grandchildren, Amber Rendell, Michael Lester, Courtney Jones and Michaella Seastrom and six great grandchildren, Aaron, Karli, Harlie, Jacob, Nathan and Molly.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Scranton United Methodist Church. She will lie in state Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery.
