Apalonia "Polly" R. Luthi

Apalonia “Polly” Luthi, age 73, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Rolling Hills Health Center. She was born March 5, 1941 in Roswell, New Mexico the daughter of Felix Rodriquez and Carmen Hernandez Rodriquez. Polly moved to Kansas at the young age of 15 and started with what she loved the most, her family. Polly was the kindest and most gentle soul you would ever meet. She loved to dance and loved country music and latino music early in the morning.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Loren Luthi, her parents, her brothers, Tingo and Antonio Rodriquez, sister Barbara Lopez, her daughters, Elizabeth Morse in 1995 and Penny Wehmeier in 2004, her grandchildren, Christopher Herrick, Ethan Neu and Bryan Herrick.
She is survived by her only son, John (Melissa) Herrick III of Herrington, KS; her daughters, Polly (Tom) Blankenship of Pagosa Springs, CO, Debbie (Benny) Brouhard of Osage City, KS, Billy Neu of Burlingame, KS, Honey Herrick of Topeka, Barbara Blevins of Ft. Worth, TX and Bobbie (Anthony) Sanchez of Meriden, KS; two brothers, Felix Rodriquez and Arthur Rodriquez, both of New Mexico; seven sisters, Ramona Rubio, Guadalupe Sifuentes, Lilly Salazar, Sally Barreras, Mary Meranda, Sophie Guevera and Nina Rodriquez all of New Mexico; 29 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Monday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Grantville Cemetery.
