Donald E. Norris, 71, of Topeka passed away on December 5, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Donald was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 27, 1943 the son of Donald L. and Loretta Bruner Norris. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 until 1966. He moved to Topeka and began a 29 year career with the Kansas Department of Revenue where he was a computer operator. He retired in 2001. He was enjoyed hunting, fishing, classic cars, and Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. Over the years he was very involved in his church, Victory City Church. He will be fondly remembered for being very family oriented.
On June 15, 1964, Donald was united in marriage to Ruth Randolph.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Norris of the home; three daughters, Gina Norris-Ray of Topeka, Robin Norris-Courtot of Topeka and Susan Williams and Mike of Topeka; three sisters, Sharon Miller of Broken Arrow, OK, Cynthia Sharp of Shidler, OK and Charlotte Spruell of Wilberton, OK; 10 grandchildren, Kevin Trueblood, Crysta Courtot, Richard Courtot III, Trey Coleman, Brandon Williams, Dylon Williams, Trevar Rogers, Nathan Williams, Brynn Rogers and Haley Williams; and great-grandchildren, Storm (F-5) Coleman and Karly Dawn Trueblood.
Donald was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Hudgens; and a great-granddaughter Jenyne Trueblood.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9th at Victory City Church. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday evening at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Victory City Church or to Grace Hospice and sent in care of Davidson Funeral Home.
