David was the son of William J. Beatty and Wilma A. (Blevins) Beatty who preceded him in death. David was preceded in death also by a sister, Judy L. (Mark) Combs, paternal grandparents Edward L. Beatty and Edna V. (Jones) Beatty, and maternal grandparents Chester W. Blevins and Hazel E. (Jones) Blevins. David is survived by a brother William L. (Gaylene) Beatty, Carbondale, Ks., Juanita L. (William) Parker, Wakarusa, Ks. and Edna H. Beatty, Topeka, Ks. He leaves 2 sons, Cody L. (Debbie) Beatty, Texas and John S. Beatty, Cape Coral, Fl., and 5 grandchildren, Kaylene, Anistacia, Nathaniel, Ashley and Carissa.
David graduated from Topeka High School in 1974 with specialized training in Cycle, Marine and Small Engine Mechanics. His continuing education certified him in Small Engine Repair, Class II Operator in Wastewater Treatment and Water Supply Systems. Using his training while working for the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority he received multiple acknowledgements of appreciation for exceptional contributions, exemplary service and outstanding achievements. David was also qualified for the safety for Wastewater Treatment Plants at Fort Scott Community College. Most recently David had relocated to Friendswood, Texas where he worked in all capacities including, but not limited to, customer service, maintenance and repair for a Schlotzky’s restaurant franchise and personal friends.
David enjoyed fishing with friends, playing a good game of pool and helping others. The light of his life were his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. On Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Davidson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
