John William Lewis

John W. Lewis, age 66, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 in Topeka. He was born May 6, 1948 in Topeka the son of Leo and Helen Wilson Lewis. John served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He worked as a mechanic for American Lawn and Leisure for many years. John was a member of the American Legion Post #421 in Topeka. He is survived by a son, Wesley Lewis of Missouri; a daughter, Jeannine Young of Colorado Springs; a sister, Doris Pitre (Joe) of Eunice, Louisiana and 2 granddaughters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state from 9:00 – 1:00 p.m. Saturday also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Hospice or The Humane Shelter and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Grantville Cemetery.
