Harry Miller

October 5, 1921 — May 3, 2014

Harry E. Miller, 92, of Topeka passed away at his home, with his family by his side, on Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was born October 5, 1921 at Blue Rapids, Kansas the son of Nels and Ina (Shane) Miller.   Harry served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a plumber by trade, beginning in 1954. Harry owned and operated Harry Miller and Son Plumbing from 1957 until 1994. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion and the YMCA.

He was married to Jacqueline Summerfelt on January 25, 1947. They later divorced.   He later married Annabelle Sweeney, she precedes him in 1988.

Harry is survived by two sons Shane A. Miller of San Diego, CA, Chris Miller of Topeka; daughter, Connie Sanchez of Topeka; his ex-wife Jacqueline Ragan of Topeka; 13 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren and two more on the way. Harry is also survived by his companion, Roberta Shirrell.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharyn Thepot; brothers, Ralph Miller and Stan Miller; and sisters, Ollie Soudek and Pearl Henderson.

Funeral services will be held at Davidson Funeral Home at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Cremation will follow the service. On Tuesday evening, May 6 th the family will receive friends from 7-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the North YMCA in care of the funeral home.
