Florine L. King

Florine King, age 91, of Topeka passed Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Brewster Place Care Home in Topeka. She was born December 17, 1922 in Topeka the daughter of Kelly Lewis and Josephine Bleier Lewis. She grew up in Topeka, graduating from Seaman High School in 1941.   She married Stanley King July 7, 1945 in Topeka. Florine and Stanley grew and sold produce from their home on Lower Silver Lake Road for many years. He preceded her in death October 16, 2002. She was a former member of North Topeka Baptist and recently attended First Baptist Church in Topeka.

She is survived by a son, Randy (Kim) King of Longmont, CO; a daughter, Carolee (Terry) Benedict of Berthoud, CO; a brother, Dean (Nancy) Lewis of Silver Lake and four grandchildren, Emily (Dave) Sinex, Richard Benedict, Kelly King and Robin Benedict.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. She will lie in state Tuesday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery.
