Martha Ruth Pohl, age 72, of Topeka went to be with her Lord March 10, 2014. She was born June 20, 1941 in Topeka, KS the daughter of John T. Butler, Sr. and Avis L. Lehman Butler. She graduated in 1959 from Topeka High School and later attended Kansas City College and Bible School, Washburn University and Kaw Area Voc. Technical School where she received her LPN. She worked in this capacity at Stormont-Vail Hospital and several local nursing homes. She was married to Kenneth E. Pohl on February 13, 1965 in Topeka. They later divorced. Surviving are two sons, Timothy J. Pohl (Susan) of Farmersville, OH and Jeff T. Pohl (Amber) and 4 granddaughters, Clarisa Marie Warfield of Topeka, Rachel, Rebecca, and Hannah Pohl of Farmersville, OH. She was raised in the North Topeka Wesleyan Methodist church where she was married. She later became a member of the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, which closed in 1997. She became a member of the 1st Freewill Baptist Church until 2003, when she joined the New Life Church of God (Holiness). Memorial services are pending at Davidson Funeral Home.
