Stefan P. Benedix, 62, of Topeka, formerly a longtime resident of Livermore, California, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at a Topeka hospital. He was born December 18, 1951 in Berkley, CA the son of Duane Benedix and Lenore Johnson Benedix. Stefan’s Dad Duane was a hometown legend and four-time world arm wrestling champion. Stefan lived most of his wife in the East Bay area of Northern California before retiring and moving to Topeka in 2007. He was an electrician by trade and worked for the electric workers union for many years before retiring. He loved racing, motorcycle, NASCAR, any type really, and raced dirt bikes when he was younger. Stefan enjoyed riding his Harley around as he got older.
Survivors include his son Kenneth of Topeka; his daughter, Monica Lewis of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Eric, Aolani, Jasmine and Dezmond; one sister, Becky Miller in Livermore and a niece, Renae Miller. He was preceded in death by a sister Leslie Benedix in 2013.
Cremation is planned.
