James Alvin Castle

James Alvin Castle, age 76, of Lecompton, went to meet the Lord on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Jim was born January 7, 1938 the son of Roy and Rose Castle, Sr. He attended school in Topeka. Jim served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an over the road truck driver for numerous companies before retiring. He lived all his life in the Topeka area. He loved raising goats and showed them every year at the State Fair no matter what.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Rose (Hooper) Castle, Sr; a daughter, Rose LaVon Castle and a grandson, Dylan Cherveny; a brother, Roy Castle, Jr.
His is survived by his children, which include two daughters, one of Topeka, and one from Toledo, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Castle and a sister, Pat Castle, both of Topeka; he was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, dogs and goats.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home. Following the visitation a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Davidson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
