Andra L. Workman

Andra L. Workman, 78, was surrounded by loved ones at her home when she peacefully passed away Monday, January 6, 2014.

She was born March 9, 1935, to Orville and AnnaLee Bechtel in Denver, Colorado. They precede her in death. She is also preceded in death by a sister Jacque Bechtel, and a son, Kim Workman.

Andra retired from Gage Bowl North in 1997, after more than 20 years. She also worked for a short time at Sagebrush Technolgies.

She married Harvey R. Workman in 1952. They divorced and later in life shared a special friendship. He preceded her in death in 2009.

Andra will be remembered by her children; Paula (Bert) Heslet of Topeka, Sara (Don) Hayes of Kingsville, Mo., Harvey L. Workman, Johnny Workman, and Becky (Scott) Berg, all of Topeka.

She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Michael, Nicki, Amber, Adam, Brandy, and Shelly. As well as 9 great grandchildren; Chandler, Skylar, Breanna, Kaylee, Coy, Kearstin, Madeline, Karli, and Emie.
Andra enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, embroidery, crocheting, flower gardening and sitting on her front porch watching the hummingbirds. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Andra was cremated. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 4pm at Davidson Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 3 pm. Contributions may be made to the Johnson Cancer Research Center at Kansas State University
