Margaret Head

Margaret R. Head, age 85, of Topeka passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Midland Hospice House. She was born December 24, 1927 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Roy R. and Susie M. Hartley Raines. She moved to Topeka with her family in 1944 and graduated from Topeka High School. She operated a family day care home for many years and later worked for Motel 6 as a customer service specialist. She married Robert R. Head December 1, 1946. He preceded her in death May 11, 1996. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Raines. She is survived by one daughter, Diana (Terry) Thacher of Salt Lake City; four sons, Robert D. (Linda) Head of Las Vegas, R. Michael (Jan) Head of Oceanside, and Darrel (Melinda) Head and Ray (Sally)Head both of Topeka; a sister, Mellicent “Mellie” Adams of Hickman, NE; 18 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
