Howard Arthur Brokmann age 89 passed away at his North Topeka Home Friday August 16th 2013. Born 3-21-1924 at Nortonville Kansas. Raised in Meriden Kansas. He left high school to serve in WWII. Surviving family members are his wife of 61 years Ella Brokmann (Rutledge) Two daughters Regina F. Brokmann and Sandra L. Brokmann both from Topeka, Kansas, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter Avamae. He was a self employed paint contractor in the Topeka area for over 40 years. In his leisure time he loved watching western movies, listening to Ernest Tubb, his favorite singer. Gardening and feeding and watching the birds.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 22nd from 6-8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home; he will lie in state from 1-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23rd at 10:30 A.M., at Davidson Funeral Home with interment to follow at Rochester Cemetery. Monetary Contributions to be made to the VA Hospital or the Topeka Rescue Mission in care of Davidson Funeral Home.
