Virgil Dennis Lehnherr, III, 51 of Topeka, passed away Monday morning, July 29, 2013 in the comfort of his home. Virgil was born October 10, 1961 in Topeka the son of Virgil Dennis Lehnherr Jr. and Annie Elizabeth Mullinix. He grew up in Danville, VA and Topeka. Virgil graduated from Seaman High School and attended K-State. He was employed by Prairie Band Casino until he became disabled. He leaves to mourn his death his wife of 17 years, Cathleen Laster; a son, Timothy (Ashley) Lehnherr; three step children, Alicia McCullough of Wichita, Michael (Crystle) McCullough of Topeka and Heather (Brian) Fogle of Kansas City, KS; 8 grandchildren, Anthony Wiley, Alexis Wiley, Tatonya Wiley, Dayshauna Wiley, Kahle McCullough, Michael McCullough, Brandon McCullough and Lydia Lehnherr; a brother, Christian K. (Rhonda) Lehnherr and their 2 children, Christian J. and Brandon Lehnherr; and his parents, Virgil Dennis Lehnherr, Jr of Texas and Annie Elizabeth (Harold) McGranahan of Holton.
Virgil enjoyed fishing and raising chickens. He had a love for cars, especially his Camaro’s. He also enjoyed being with family and friends, especially being around all his grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Christian Calvary M/M in Grantville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Grace Hospice and sent to the Davidson Funeral at 1035 N. Kansas Ave. Topeka-66608.
