Dorothy Linder

Dorothy J. Linder went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital at the age of 86. She was born in Hoyt, Kansas, daughter of George E. Penry and Mary Zadelle (Fletcher) Penry. She graduated from Hoyt High School in 1944. She later moved to Topeka and worked for The Credit Bureau of Topeka for ten years. She married Arthur E. Linder on August 7th, 1955. He preceded her in death on September 24th, 2004. Mrs. Linder spent most of her life as a homemaker raising her three daughters and a son who survive her; Debbie J. Turpin Perry, Ks. Denise K. Bedore Topeka, Ks. Diane R. Allen Topeka, Ks. Kevin E. Linder Topeka, Ks. She also had six grandsons, two granddaughters, and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Linder was also preceded in death by a brother Cecil Penry Hoyt, Ks, a sister Georgia Lois Ward, Yoder, Ks. She is survived by two sisters Phyllis McCay Houghton, LA and Mary Pagel Hoyt, Ks.
Mrs. Linder will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home on Tuesday July 30, 2013 from 1pm – 8pm. A visitation for Family and Close Friends will be held from 6pm – 8pm. Graveside services will be held Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 11am at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Heart Foundation.
