Robert "Rob" Burton

Robert “Rob” D. Burton, age 47 of Topeka, passed away Saturday at Stormont-Vail Hospital. Rob was born June 5, 1966 in Sabetha, KS the son of James and Patricia Stuart Burton. He grew up in Sabetha, graduating from Sabetha High School in 1984 and later from Washburn University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. He worked for Emporia State and Washburn University as a computer programmer. He is survived by his parents Jim and Pat Burton of Sabetha; a son, Logan Burton of Lawrence; a brother, Stuart Burton of Sabetha and two sisters, Christina Stover (Craig) of Hiawatha and Jennifer Streett (John) of Hiawatha.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. He will lie in state Tuesday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. also at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha on Wednesday from 1:00-1:45. Interment services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Morrill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Mulvane Art Museum at Washburn University and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home or the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.
