Jackie L. Price, Sr.

Jackie L. Price Sr., 86, of Eskridge, Kansas passed away on June 8, 2013 in Topeka, Kansas surrounded by his family. Jackie was born November 2, 1927 to Lloyd and Edna (Barnes) Price in Topeka, Kansas. Jackie attended schools in the Topeka area. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He is a longtime member of the Electrical Union.
He married the love of his wife Marge (Degraw) Price on February 12, 1949. She preceded him on November 2, 2011 when she passed away in Topeka.
Jackie is survived by a son, Vernon Price and wife Debbie of Emporia; a daughter, Sharon McKinney in Missouri; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Carey and Maxine Hogan both of Topeka.
Jack was preceded in death by two sons, Charles R. Price and Jackie L. Price, Jr.; three brothers; and five sisters.
Mr. Price will lie in state Tuesday, June 11th from 9-5 at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. Graveside services and military honors will be conducted at the Eskridge Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 12th. The family will receive friends at the Eskridge Community Center following the graveside service.
We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with Jack. The family would also like to express gratitude to Midland Hospice of Topeka, for their support in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eskridge Community Center in care of the funeral home.
